Come and see which worship is right for you? Is the 9 a.m. service like the 11:00 a.m. service? Yes, in many respects. The 9 a.m. service includes the elements of worship that we as a church and denomination hold reverently dear. Those include greeting one another and welcoming our visitors, a children's sermon, the Lord's Prayer, scripture, an opportunity to give, communion, a message (sermon) and an invitation to discipleship. How are the services different? The two most noticeable differences are the music style and the abbreviated time. The 9 a.m. service has contemporary music using instruments and praise and worship songs that are found in the Chalice Praise books or heard on mainstream Christian radio broadcasts. The music encourages the congregation to worship by participating and celebrating God through song. The service is structured to last just under an hour. Sunday school for all ages starts at 10 a.m. Childcare/nursery is provided during all 3 hours.
Want to know more about Creekwood? The New to Creekwood Class began April 20. Are you a new member, guest or just wanting a refresher? We will have five sessions in all, each covering a different topic, including Disciples of Christ history and basic beliefs, Creekwood history, staff and leaders of Creekwood, ministries offered in our church, and discussing what it means to make a membership covenant. We will meet in the sanctuary from 10:00 to 10:45 each Sunday morning through May 18. For more information, please contact Teresa Baumann at the church office. Can you SEE yourself helping a scout? Girl Scout Emily Reed is working on her Gold Award project and has asked area churches to place collection bins for used adult eyeglasses. These glasses will then be given to the CCA Adult Health Center for their patients. So, round up any old adult glasses (and glass cases) and deposit them in the box provided on the Outreach Table. You can read more about Emily's (and her friend Kristina Kave- formerly of Creekwood) project on the Outreach bulletin board.

Trietsch Memorial UMC and Creekwood have a shared community ministry to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one through a 5-week program called “Coping with Loss.” These free workshops give participants the tools to understand and manage their grief. What it doesn't do is end their grief. The class occurs four times a year - 2 here on Mondays, 2 at Trietsch on Thursdays, led by trained grief facilitators from each church. Creekwood's current session began Monday, March 31, 2008 and ends April 28. After the second session, these groups close to new registrants. Are you interested in learning more about this ministry?
