Every summer, a large group of high schoolers, and middle schoolers, and fourth/fifth graders give up time in their never-long-enough summer to go and serve those in need in Christ’s name. Over three years, high school youth served in Crossville, TN, Atlanta, GA and New Orleans, LA; middle schoolers have traveled to the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, AR, Ruidoso, NM and San Antonio, TX; and most recently a short (but highly effective) trip for fourth and fifth graders took them north to serve in Gainesville, TX. Sacrificing time, money, and comfort to help others live, thrive and survive is a vital part of a growing faith, and creates an impression in the spirit that never goes away. Though the van rides can be long and boring, though the floors are always hard, and though the food is usually gross, passing on the peace, light, and grace of Christ is absolutely worth it all.
